Project Disha (meaning
direction or path) provides career guidance to young boys and girls
from rural communities since career guidance and counseling facilities
are usually available only in urban centers and rural students are
deprived of them. Career counseling includes aptitude testing, individual/group
counseling, and year-long capacity building workshops. Ongoing contact,
through events organized every month, feedback from career counselors,
and mentoring from professionals from diverse backgrounds help the
participants to make appropriate choices about their future career.
A quarterly publication is also planned to reach out to larger numbers
of students.
