Sponsor Cathy's "Run for a dream"
- a dream to make a difference
Hi Everyone,
I am currently training to run my first half marathon in the Nike
Half Marathon in New York City on August 5, 2007. I never thought
that I would be able to run 13+ miles, but have found this goal
to be extremely challenging and rewarding. Also, I have the ability
to simultaneously raise money for a wonderful charity, Lend-A-Hand
India, which works to provide education to many children in
India who would otherwise never receive the opportunity. It is an
organization that raises funds to provide economic opportunities
for hundreds of under-privileged, yet well-deserving boys and girls
through education, vocational training, career development, employment
and entrepreneurial ventures.
After visiting Calcutta, India in high school and working with street
children through various non-profits, I recognized an opportunity
to make a difference for others who have much less. These children
have the enthusiasm and desire to learn, but do not have the resources
to do so. Please consider donating to Lend-A-Hand India, and also
support me while running in my marathon. Any help is appreciated!
